Was the first guitarist to compete in the Florida State Music Teachers Association (performing Rodrigo's Fantasia para un Gentilhombre). Early 70's: established several university degree programs in classical guitar in Tennessee. Founded Jerry Roberts Guitars (mail order guitar sales). Performed in more competetions, judged some competitions. Was president of Nashville Guitar Society. Mid to late 70's Recoeded LP "Jerry Roberts Plays Barrios & Brouwer". Perfomed in seminars, master classes, or private lessons with Alice Artzt, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Manuel Barrueco, Liona Boyd, Lenny Breau , Leo Brouwer, John Marlow, Jose Tomas, Narciso Yepes.
